A favorite outdoor event in Northeast Louisiana is the “Marengo Suicide Swamp Ride” in Hebert, Louisiana at the Boeuf Wildlife Management Area. Now in its 24th year, the event occures the first weekend in June to benefit the Wish I Could Foundation of Northeast Louisiana.

Over 6,000 people from all over the world participate in the event each year by riding through the swamp and maneuvering around snakes, alligators, and the most famous sinkhole in the south, “Suicide Hole.”  The only requirement to join this exciting muddy ride is a valid Louisiana hunting or fishing license and a 4-wheeler.
