Cotton Land Cluster of Dog Shows
The show includes four all breed dog shows and thirteen specialty dog shows. The 2007 show featured dogs from 42 states, Canada, Mexico, and Costa Rica. Many of the dogs that participate continue to compete in New York’s televised broadcast of the Westminster Dog Show. Proceeds from the show go to Ouachita Parish Sheriffs Canine Unit and Veterinary Medicine Scholarships at LSU and Mississippi State.

Poverty Point Bird Hike
Guests will be given a brief introduction to bird watching by Ms. Rosalie Overby of Oak Grove. ULM Guest Artist on Campus Mark Snyder
Mark Snyder will present a recital as part of VAPA's Guest Artists On Campus series. Mark is a composer, performer and teacher living in Cleveland, Mississippi. Enabled with a laptop, video projector, clarinet, tuba & accordion, Mark creates multimedia compositions with themes as varied as a caricature of a Swedish dock worker turned astronaut, equates his own transition to parenthood with De Quincey's writings on Opium and orchestrates these with live instrument processing, prerecorded sounds and video.
