Mother’s Day is around the corner and what better present to give to your wonderful mother than quality time! Market on the Alley

Head over to Alley Park for the Mother’s Day Market on the Alley event! The market will feature handmade artisan items and homegrown goodies. Antique Alley is also filled with boutiques and vintage antique markets for those looking to do a little more shopping. There will be a food truck on-site and much more! This event is free to attend.


Landry Vineyards Concert

The Mike McKenzie Band is ready to perform for all this Mother’s Day weekend at Landry Vineyards! If music like rock, country, or dance music interests you, then the Mike McKenzie Band concert is something you don’t want to miss. You and your mother can enjoy a weekend of wine and great music! Be sure to bring a few chairs or a blanket for that perfect hillside view.


ULM Baseball vs UT Arlington

Take me out to the ball game! Buy your mom some peanuts or cracker jacks and head over to the ULM vs UT Arlington baseball game! There is no bigger fan than a sports mom!


Places to Discover

Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo

Enjoy the outdoors with your mother at the Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo! Spend quality time together and enjoy all the animal exhibits that range from lions, tigers, alligators, and even bison! There is even a train ride where you can see all the animals up close! The gardens feature a flourishing native fauna and a beautiful walk-through greenhouse.


Go Mural Hunting

Look for the local artist's creations, the ones with cultural significance, the vintage advertisements, or the fun patterns! In Monroe-West Monroe, start with the postcard murals. West Monroe’s is located on Antique Alley on the backside of JAC's Craft Smokehouse, and Monroe’s can be found across the parking lot from the Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum. Next, visit Art Alley, where you can find rainbows, lightning bolts, hearts, paper planes. This area also features the Outside Gallery, where a new mural is painted over the last for each new Downtown Gallery Crawl. Plus, there are four Coca-Cola murals to check out. You can also visit the Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo for their stampede mural.


Biedenharn Museum and Gardens

Beautiful gardens, historical exhibits, and 5-cent Coca-Cola drinks. There is a lot to love about the Biedenharn Museum and Gardens! This perfect Mother’s Day destination is ready to take you and your mom on a day full of adventure. After you get to see what all the museum and gardens has to offer, be sure to pick up a 5-cent coke bottle. You won’t find a cheaper price anywhere else.
