Chennault Aviation and Military Museum
701 Kansas Lane, Monroe
The Chennault Aviation and Military Museum is proud to present “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” on Saturday, March 28 to honor the service and sacrifices made by our Vietnam Veterans. All are invited to the free event held at the Chennault Museum.
“Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day,” is recognized annually to recognize and celebrate those who served during one of the most controversial conflicts in American military history. Over 2.7 million men and women served in the Vietnam War, but many Americans back home weren’t as receptive to the war effort. With over 58,000 casualties and 300,000 wounded veterans, the war took its toll on those who served. “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” gives our Vietnam veterans of the “welcome home” that many did not receive.
The museum will host an open house from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. A ceremony will be held at 11:00 am to recognize veterans and give them the chance to share their stories. Texas Roadhouse of West Monroe will provide complimentary lunch for all veterans. Non-veterans may purchase a plate for $10. Proceeds will support the museum’s mission.
