Leading with Purpose: Coach Bryant Vincent’s Mission to Restore ULM Football
ULM Head Football Coach Bryant Vincent is more than a coach - he’s a mentor, a motivator, and a believer in the power of perseverance. His journey to Monroe is one shaped by grit, faith, and a deep desire to make a lasting impact, both on the field and in the community.

From small-town roots in Kentucky to high school sidelines and Division I locker rooms, Coach Vincent has spent nearly three decades building programs from the ground up. A former player turned coach, his passion for football began early, guided by mentors who saw potential in a first-generation college student with big dreams. “Since high school, I knew I wanted to be a football coach,” he shared. “I saw the impact a coach could have, and I wanted to give that to others.”
His path hasn’t been easy. He’s led turnarounds at high schools and universities, faced unexpected setbacks, and even had a program shut down on him. But through it all, he kept showing up. “God’s got a plan,” he said. “Every step of my career has led me here, to ULM.”
For Coach Vincent, this role is personal. “This town is special,” he said. “It’s full of genuine, caring people. The only thing missing is a winning football program and we’re going to build it the right way.” He describes year one as tough but transformative. “We felt the energy. You could see the excitement coming back.”
Heading into his second season, Coach Vincent is focused on momentum. With wins over UAB, Troy, and James Madison under his belt, the team and the community have caught a glimpse of what’s possible. “Our mission is to restore this program and win the first bowl game in ULM history. We’re building an army, and it’s going to take all of us.”
His leadership goes far beyond X’s and O’s. He’s about relationships, mentorship, and building young men into leaders. “Effort, toughness, and love - those are the pillars of our program. These players aren’t just athletes; they’re future fathers, professionals, and role models. My job is to help them be the best version of themselves.”
Off the field, Coach Vincent is just as passionate about the Monroe-West Monroe community. He names Jay Pappa’s, Magic Grill, and Cormier’s as favorite local spots and speaks glowingly of the support he’s received from local business owners and fans alike.
He’s also not shy about his vision. “We break it down on ‘champs’ every day. We’re not here to be average, we’re here to win. And we want this town right beside us.”
As football season approaches, Coach Vincent has one simple message: “Buy your tickets. Come out. Support this team. We’re in the middle of something special. Let’s do this together.”
