Mardi Gras in Monroe-West Monroe

Monroe-West Monroe Mardi Gras season is in full swing! For the first year ever, the party takes place on two weekends. Last weekend, Krewe de Riviere got the party rolling! Next, the Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras Parade rolls for its 37th year on Saturday, February 15! The schedule of events is below. You won't want to miss a thing!

Krewe of Janus' 37th Annual Mardi Gras Celebration

Theme: The Magic of Fairytales

February 15, 2020

10:00 am - Krewe of Janus Children's Mardi Gras Parade

Once upon a time, the cutest Mardi Gras parade rolled at Pecanland Mall's Center Court. This free event kicks off the day's celebrations with the cutest mini-Mardi Gras floats and even cuter riders. The theme is The Magic of Fairytales, and the Krewe of Janus' king and queen will join the party! Complete with beads, candy, and other throws. Registration begins at 9:00 am and the first 100 participants receive a goody bag!

11:00 am - 14th Annual Krewe of Paws Mardi Gras Pet Parade

Experience the Magic of Furry Tales! Antique Alley in West Monroe will be filled with pets of all shapes and sizes ready to roll in this year's parade. All pets are welcomed, even those with feathers and scales! This event features food trucks, vendors, and music!

11:00 am - 7:00 pm - Mardi Gras Festival

Head to Downtown West Monroe for a day full of food trucks, festivities, and live music by Four on the Floor! This Mardi party will get you ready for the big parade that night. Don your carnival best, and head to the new Alley Park for all the fun.

3:00 pm - Jester Jog 5K

Run a portion of the Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras Parade route and back through downtown West Monroe in your Mardi Gras-themed outfits! The crowds will already be gathered for the parade, so many will cheer on our race participants as they run past. Finisher beads for everyone as well as age/gender metals! Enjoy King Cake after the race. Participants will gather in Alley Park located on the corner of Trenton and Natchitoches Street. The race begins at 3:00 p.m.

4:00 pm - Mardi Gras Parade Party at Discover Monroe-West Monroe

Come hang out with us! Our current office is located right off the parade route, so we're having a little get together. We will be playing music and having fun! Enjoy some spicy jambalaya or a hot dog from our food tent. Grab some Monroe-West Monroe merch while you're here! Look no further for the perfect parade watch spot.

6:00 pm - Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras Parade

A storybook ending to a day full of Mardi Gras festivities, this parade is the big one! Floats, marching bands, beads, and fairy tale costumes all come together! The parade begins in West Monroe and ends at Oliver Road in Monroe.
