Discover Monroe-West Monroe Announces Battle for the 50-50 Ball

Kicking off DMWM’s 50th Anniversary Before the Tip-off

MONROE-WEST MONROE, La. – Discover Monroe-West Monroe (DMWM) is announcing Battle for the 50-50 Ball to begin the celebration of the tourism bureau’s 50th anniversary ahead of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) Championship Series 2026!

DMWM is asking the community, local businesses, elected officials, and corporate entities to help us welcome NWBA Championship para-athletes and their supporters to Ouachita Parish, while encouraging participating teams to Battle for the 50-50 Ball.

50-50 Ball

50-50 ball in basketball means each of the competing teams have a chance to recover the ball whenever there’s a rebound or loose ball; giving one of them a *golden* chance to win the game – and that’s what DMWM is all about as we celebrate the big FIFTY!

Welcome NWBA Championship Para-athletes and Supporters

The community can join in on the welcome by having their organizational teams create a video, introducing who they are, briefly explain how they currently serve Ouachita Parish and how they can serve NWBA Championship para-athletes while in town. End the video by exclaiming, “It’s Your Ball!”

Post the video on Facebook or Instagram, tag Discover Monroe-West Monroe, use the official hashtag: #ItsYourBallMWM in the social media caption, and remind Ouachita Parish that tip-off for the NWBA Championship Series is March 19, 2026.

NWBA’s Junior Division and Adult Division National Championship is happening March 19-March 22 & March 26-29, 2026, at the West Monroe Sports and Events facility.
