Landry Vineyards Earns No.1 Spot on List for 2026 Best Places to Camp in the Southeast Region

WEST MONROE, La. – Landry Vineyards is listed as No. 1 among 10 camping and RV sites on the list for the 2026 Best Places to Camp: Southeast by The Dyrt – an app to find campsites.

Each region comprised of Top 10 lists: Central, Midwest, Mountain, Northeast, Pacific and Southeast.

Landry Vineyards Grape Escape earned the top spot this year for being a working winery where a handful of full-hookup gravel sites sit on a hill overlooking active grape rows. The property is split by a country road between camping and the tasting room.

“Our most important means of marketing our wine is to genuinely demonstrate a love and appreciation for all who visit Landry Vineyards, providing them with a wonderful experience. We recognize that people have a very small amount of time to recreate and it is our privilege to be a blessing to all who visit Landry Vineyards,” said Owner Jeff Landry of Landry Vineyards.

The wine is what draws campers to this property. The tasting room features 30 varieties, including a popular blackberry merlot and chocolate raspberry port, Monday – Saturday. Saturday evenings often bring live music and campers who time their stay during solo guitar sets and a full bagpipe performance under the portico.

One guest arranged a wine-and-cheese delivery straight to his site after a long day of driving.

What The Dyrt’s community of campers has to say: “Landry Vineyard was a quick overnight stop but couldn’t have been more idyllic. We purchased a bottle of port upon arrival and enjoyed sipping on it at the edge of the grape vines, under the stars. The vineyard is close enough to the highway for easy access but far enough away. The vineyard’s next Lagniappe Saturday Music is scheduled Sept. 5, 2026, from 3 – 6:30 p.m. with Dave Gore, featuring tastings plus a tour.
