Monroe-West Monroe Becomes a Finalist for 2026 SportsTravel Award

MONROE-WEST MONROE, La. ─ SportsTravel readers nominated Monroe-West Monroe as a finalist for a 2026 SportsTravel Award in the category of Best Sports Host City!

With this nomination, Discover Monroe-West Monroe (DMWM) is recognized for its investment of a total of roughly $8 million in the Forsythe Tennis Complex, Sterlington Sports Complex and West Monroe Sports and Events facility. These sites produced a range of notable sports events over the past year, including DBB World Series in July 2025, the National Wheelchair Basketball Association Junior Division and Adult Division National Championship Series in March 2026, and the 14th consecutive Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s State Tennis Championships in April 2026.

The winners of the 2026 SportsTravel Awards will be announced at TEAMS ’26 in Birmingham, October 26-29, 2026.
