USSSA set to host the Southern Classic Showcase in Monroe

MONROE, La. ─ The United States Specialty Sports Association is scheduled to host the Southern Classic Showcase in Monroe beginning Friday, June 13.
The event is under the Louisiana Fast Pitch and it’s taking place June 13 – June 15, 2025, at the ULM Warhawk College Softball Field, Ouachita Sportsplex, and ULM Intramural Complex.

The Southern Classic Showcase will have three divisions: High School Open, 14 & Under Open and 16 & Under Open, with approximately 34 teams expected to participate. While it’s a two-day event, organizers are hosting a Friday night camp on June 13 at the ULM fields led by college coaches. More than 80 players have signed up for this camp.

“The primary goal of the showcase and camp is to provide a platform for players to exhibit their work ethic, skills, and passion for the game to the college scouts and recruiters. This also gives athletes the chance to get feedback from the coaches that will help them to improve their skills,” said USSSA Director Jimmy Greer.

Some of the schools currently attending include: LA Tech, LSUA, LC, BRCC, SEA, Hinds, SMCC, Holmes, MMCC, JMU, and Centenary.

The showcase is expected to draw in an estimated economic impact of $212,600.28 for Ouachita Parish.
