Bayou DeSiard Bayou Bites Trail Information:
This is an out and back paddle. There is normally minimal current in this Bayou. Bayou DeSiard can normally be paddled any time during good weather. Always Respect other Sportsmen. There is a $4 launch fee at Connerly's Landing (Way Point #1). Envelopes are available to pay the fee. During the summer, you can pick up some produce before or after your paddle at Connerly's Market Stand next door. Please do not block the barber shop parking next door.

Note: Catahoula's offers kayak rentals. However, it is recommended to follow the trail above and put in at Connerly's Boat Launch.
Just beyond the trail Way Point #4, you can find two local restaurants - Catahoula's and Waterfront Grill. During the University semesters, you may have the bonus of seeing the ULM National Champion Water Ski Team practicing on the bayou!
Frenchman’s Bend North Paddle Trail Information:
This out-and-back paddle trail begins at the public boat ramp on LA Highway 134 and travels north along Bayou DeSiard. This is a beginner-friendly and safe paddle with little to no current, minimal boat traffic, and plenty of tree cover that provides shade from the summer heat and protection from the wind. The full route can be up to 10 miles, but paddlers can shorten the trip by turning around at any point and returning to the launch. Please respect all wildlife and enjoy the natural beauty along the bayou.
