On Sunday, April 12, the Monroe-West Monroe area was hit with a storm that produced multiple tornadoes across Ouachita Parish affecting areas of Monroe, West Monroe, and Sterlington. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by these storms.
Some of our hotels are without power, but none were damaged. Our airport (MLU) was in an affected area, but it was not severely damaged.
We are thankful for those who have already begun to volunteer to help our community in the recovery effort.
For anyone seeking information on needed services, reporting damage, or volunteer opportunities to help our communities, please visit the United Way of Northeast Louisiana’s resource page or call 211.
